About the award

This award is being established in memory of Linda Lewis. Linda was committed to excellence in the field of Journalism, had high standards professionally and ethically and was a mentor to many. To honour her legacy, this award will go to a deserving student who exemplifies the characteristics that made Linda a leader.

Criteria

  • Be registered as a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the School of Journalism at Ryerson University and have clear academic standing;
  • have a minimum CGPA 3.5;
  • 500 word essay describing how he/she has demonstrated leadership in school and/or journalist activities outside of the classroom;
  • 250 word supporting reference letter from an instructor or supervisor.

Your application must include:

  • A cover letter stating only the award you are applying for, your name, your student number, your year of study and your CGPA;
  • 500 word essay describing how you have demonstrated leadership in school and/or journalist activities outside of the classroom;
  • 250 word supporting reference letter from an instructor or supervisor.
