Philippe Devos is a pixel-stained wretch with deep experience in just about every editing role in digital journalism and newspapering.
His work has helped oust ineffective political leaders, reverse illegal government policy, free people from intolerable situations and protect them from torture.
These achievements and others have been recognized by the Emmy Awards, the Michener Awards for public service journalism, the Online News Association’s Online Journalism Awards, the Editor and Publisher Awards, the Webby Awards and the National Newspaper Awards.
Philippe is now the director of communications and media at WWF-Canada, where he leads a team to help advance solutions to the environmental challenges that matter most for Canadians so that nature, wildlife and people thrive together.

He started at WWF-Canada in January, 2016, after 14 years at The Globe and Mail. While at The Globe he distinguished himself leading all live publishing as senior digital editor. Before that he was deputy foreign editor for six years. He’s also been a copy editor, paginator, production editor, A1 editor, features editor and homepage editor, among other roles. Upon leaving the The Globe in 2014, he was managing editor at Pelmorex Media (The Weather Network) for one year before joining WWF-Canada. Previous to The Globe, he graduated from Ryerson School of Journalism, was editor-in-chief of The Eyeopener and had a brief stint at The Toronto Star.
