Duties of the job

? Researches and writes fraud-related articles for website Canadian Fraud News Inc.
? Determines what research is necessary to achieve the final written product.
? Aggregate fraud-related articles from other news sources to use as content on Canadian Fraud News Inc. (summarize and link backs).
? Researches and verifies information for topics and issues, using credible sources such as other corporations, personal interviews, Statistics Canada, industry associations and others.
? Writes in a clear, concise style (Canadian Fraud News Inc. voice).
? Find pictures and images that are license free.
? Uses social media, Twitter, Facebook and Google+, to spread the content, using Hootsuite.
? Send out the weekly Newsletter using Revue.
? Finding guest writers to post new fraud-related articles on the website.
? Researching specific individuals social media presences for Investigation Counsel PC. And other research for ICPC.

Skills and experience expected of a successful candidate

? Diploma in English, Communications, Journalism, Professional Writing or equivalent education.
? Relevant work experience in research, online writing and social media.
? Portfolio to demonstrate experience in writing.
? Have a good understanding of what headlines fit the Canadian Fraud News Inc. website.
? Bonus: Basic Knowledge of SEO best practices
? Bonus: Familiarity with the WordPress CMS
? Bonus: Basic graphic design skills
? Bonus: Legal background or knowledge
The startup Canadian Fraud News Inc. is an online speciality news aggregator and generator with a focus on Canadian fraud cases. We keep track of all fraud related stories that are published by other media and we report on ongoing cases filed in the Courts. We are always looking for new input and trying new things like video. We are hoping to get more people to reach out to us with their fraud stories. The news website is connected to Investigation Counsel PC, a law firm specializing in fraud litigation.
