Journalist with Digital Experience/Interest

We, the 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles Association is a Living History not-for-profit.  We are planning a cross-Canada tour of historic vehicles and motorcycles from early June – mid-July 2017, approximately 42 days, honouring the sacrifices of all soldiers who served in World War 1.

We will be stopping at many communities across Canada, celebrating with them the Victoria Cross recipients from World War 1.  The history of World War 1 has been relegated to a footnote of our country’s history.  By celebrating Victoria Cross recipients, we intend to put faces to the names and re-kindle that part of our history which is quickly fading.

By using replica World War 1 motorcycles, augmented by a privately-owned collection of World War 1 vehicles, we intend to visit communities to share with them their own remembrances.

We require a journalist who will be able to take, file pictures and daily reports to our on-line web site, covering the daily activities of the tour.  A valid driver’s license is required, as some driving will be involved.

This person will travel with other members of the organization in one of the support vehicles for the total period, with an opportunity to trade places with the other journalist on the tour.

The number of hours per week is flexible, depending on the length each day’s activities, usually no more than an average of eight/day.

Travel to the west coast and return from St. John’s will be covered by 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles, as will daily accommodations.

The salary is $75/day, including scheduled days’ off.
